Dr. Yau-Jr (Tristan) Liu

Dr. Yau-Jr (Tristan) Liu is the Director in the Strategic Industries Program at DIMEs Center, Taiwan Think Tank.

He is also the President of Taipei University of Marine Technology. Prior to joining DIMEs, he was the commissioner of the Economic Development Bureau (EDB) at Taichung city government.

Dr. Liu’s research expertise and professional experience spans industrial policy, SME policy, trade policy, and urban planning. Prior to working at Taichung city government, he was the director of Research Division VIII for SME Policy at Taiwan Institute of Economic Research (TIER).

Dr. Liu’s academic work and policy commentaries have appeared in various journals and media such as Taiwan Economics Research Monthly, Industry Magazine, Liberty Times, and Voicettank. He holds a Ph.D. degree from the Department of Economics, University of Missouri-Columbia.
